Blessed CNY!

you wouldn't believe the journey we went thru before this picture/

Wishing all my chinese friends a very Blessed Lunar New Year! It's the year of the Tiger, may everyone inherit the strength & stealth of this animal. As for me, visitations @ the relatives' places have been pretty cyclical. Makes me kinda feel that the essence of having a reunion dinner has been lost. A little disappointed and displeased though.

Whirlwind of emotions, been thinking a lot about a certain pair of friends. Finally the guy steps out, good for them. The fact that the first day of CNY was also V'day didn't help at all :( At a crossroad now, having to decide which course to take in uni. I am weary. How I wish I could hurriedly fast forward time to the first week of March.

I am tired of hanging by the thread. Okay, enough blogging. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Jieyi haha yes I was contemplating whether to include the drink or not, but apparently I decided not to lol!
Zhimin oh I see :( hmm then if we've got outings we'll still invite you ok!
YJ whaaat?
Terence hellohi! such a long time eh!
Jedi OOPSY DAISY okay, 14 blades then. Sorry! I didn't pay attention to the title but I sure did enjoy the show :)
Xinhui me too! I always enjoyed band, music is good for the soul. I miss the trumpet!

Via, Veritas, Vita

School Crest for CCPS, SACPS/SS

I am reminded of my primary school when I went to pick Ali up at SACSS earlier on. In case some of you didn't know, my primary school is Canossa Convent Primary School. It's an all-girls school and I am so blessed to have spent 6 fruitful years there.

The Canossian Eduplex is located at Salim Road, along Aljunied Road near my place. It comprises of 5 different entities - Canossian School for the Hearing Impaired (CSHI), Canossa Convent (Convent), Canossa Convent Primary (CCPS), Canossaville Children's Home (CCH) and Magdelene's Kindergarten.

It was at this school that I picked up core values of respect for others, honesty, sensitivity, charity, humility, grace, joy and peace, just to name a few. The four-pointed star represents four basic social virtues: Truth, Justice, Love, Freedom. And the school motto was - Via, Veritas & Vita, which literally meant the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Reflecting on the 10 years I spent in primary & secondary education, I've passed many milestones & learning points during the course. I am thankful God is so faithful to me and I had not gone wayward. My core CCA was in the concert band, that is besides my prefectorial duties & leadership positions. I love playing in the band. I was given the instrument which suited my personality so well - the trumpet/cornet. The bright Bb instrument was the lead in her own way - the princess of the brass section & usually the solo instrument for most pieces. Her closest competitor is the Saxyphone from the woodwinds section. However, when a piece is able to tap on both instruments for solo parts (take a listen at Fiera Winds), it'd sound absolutely magnificent.

Fast forward back to 2010. It is now the end of project deadlines & assignments. I can finally heave a sigh of relief. But before I let loose, I am reminded I have to study for my impending examinations.

Had spent the day after my ccm test @ bedok. Haven't been to that eastern part of Singa in eons. Studied @ the library with Jieyi. Was a joy hanging out with her. Enjoyed the sharing, & honesty with each other. I am thankful for this campha sister whom I can relate to and trust, because I can't seem to trust the rest. Hah.

Dinnered @ 85 market, bakchormee & bbq chicken wings! :)
Met up the sister with some of the band juniors and headed home from there.
Looking at how Ali interacted with her schoolmates brought me back to my mpss/ccps school years where I had fun with my girlfriends then. It was so nice to belong to a group, a CCA. Ahh reminiscing the times.

Past few days have been pretty tight for me. I just thank God that I am still in one-piece. Poor Estrella died on me since last week. Haven't been able to revive her, I really do miss her so. Xavier's enlistment on Tuesday the 2nd, didn't manage to catch up with him :( DTF lunch with Ken on thursday and played my first game - l4d2. (okay guys I officially join your gamerz club) Samuel's (dan's younger bro) enlistment on Friday 5th and Roy's on Saturday 6th! Caught the show "12 blades" with the ccu cell + gabby & had our first tcm youth meeting. Finally managed to pass my beloved Estrella to Hsien Zhuan on Sunday.

Meet my Best Friends! :)

Recognise this lady on the right?

If you don't, shame on you! Haha just kidding. Let me formally introduce my best friend to you. Sheila Eng, is one of few girlfriends I have, and I am truly blessed by her :) I mentioned the names of the girlfriends who was very dear to me in yesterday's post. You'll understand why they hold a special place in my heart.

Sheila Eng - the BFF

Sharing the same faith and having similar beliefs on other issues, it's no wonder we both deepened in closeness in secondary 4. Having able to spur each other on to achieve good results for our Os (Sheila was obviously better :P), and then entering the same polytechnic, though different course. I'll never forget what brought us both together. Okay, technically it was a person. Jasper Tan was a very dear friend/brother to me, and he was Sheila's ___friend then too. Sadly he left our earthly home, and it only only a few months later that Sheila & I actually held a h2h conversation, which lead us to becoming great friends!

I am so thankful & blessed to have finally found a godly girlfriend as my best friend. Although sometimes we have to give more than we should to lift each other's spirits up. Been through a rough patch with her just recently, but it has made us even stronger & definitely more understanding toward each other. Reciprocating love & just giving mental and spiritual support is exactly how a healthy relationship should be.

Thanking God for sending Sheila into my life - through Jasper. &I look forward to many more years of girlfriendship!

Priscilla Tan - the confidante

This lady here is somehow like my second best friend lol! What's really special about her is her enthusiasm and outlook to life. Churched under the same denomination as I am, Pris is able to hold deep conversations with me about our faith becos we have the same teaching & way of worship. What's more, she is dating my kindergarten classmate!! Haha!

I always enjoy chilling with her, though she is usually texting/answering calls during our random outings. Ultimately the fellowship with her is what spurs me on. Likewise, I am so tremendously blessed by Sheila & Pris as my two closest girlfriends.

Stephanie Chuah - the princess on her own

This sweetheart here is the baby of our clique, although I am the youngest heh! :) She can whine & argue and still get away with it. We'll love her all the same. Stephy, unfortunately, is not in my biz school :( How oh how much fun I would imagine to have if she were in NP! Attached to this fellow called Dean, she hardly has time to meet us.

She is such a bubble of energy, it is impossible to not smile when you're out with her. And after awhile, you'll find yourself worn out (don't take this to heart) becos she drains the energy out of you lol!! It is impossible to stay quiet with her becos Steph is quite a chatterbox. Right now, Steph & I are planning to apply into the same course, if possible, so that we can spend more time together! :)

Cheryl Soh - the busy butterfly

This no-nonsense girl is the last member of the clique, but she is VERY VERY BUSY :( However, when she does grace us with her presence, it will be a mindblowing one becos Cheryl simply has so much to share! Her life, and her antics, are very interesting & you'll really never get bored with her.

She also has a wardrobe of clothes! Most of the time, I am asked by my friends where I got my dresses/tops from. But with Cheryl, I am always the one doing the asking! LOL! Love her & her dress sense. She hardly joins us for Sentosa :( But when we have our dinners at restaurants, it'd be powerpacked with lotsa phototaking and sharing! My girlfriends are the best! :P

Vanessa Foong - the ex-neighbour I never noticed

Meet Vanny, she was once my neighbour! We attended abacus class together when we were younger & we never really talked until in 2007! Similar interests like music (we were both in concert band) and God, I always love talking with Van. Praying for each other... I remember we were much closer during our first year, with another gf called Clarene. Eating together, doing projects together was just the norm for us. However I was separated from them, especially more so this sem when both are doing attachment while I'm still studying. Van, and Clare hold a special place in my heart cos they were the ones who impacted me most in my entire poly life. And so, we keep up with each other with regular nights out together. Which brings me to this: When are we meeting again? :P heh

-

There you go, you've officially met the female loves of my life. Immediate family & relatives not included. These girls are part of the backbone of my life, having them to fall back on for earthly girly advice & support. Definitely looking forward to having them as my bridesmaids! :P hehe!

I also do have some trusted and good friends of the opposite gender too. Thank God for the balance haha! :) It's sad how I hardly hang around with my secondary school or campha mates, I am not even that close to the people in my course. But I am glad I've got some godly male friends like BBBBBBBB (who is wayyyyyyyy far away but still able to extend his helping hand & love over), my cellgroup boys - Jem Dan Gab, Ernest the trusted little bro since I don't know when, A. M. K. Yang Jun, Jeremy Goh (I know I can always call him especially in school w/o feeling bad), & Marcus Koh - my "trainer" who whips me into shape.

Sometimes I do get disappointed with certain friends. But we can't help it, humans are fallible creatures. I must remind myself to try to exemplify Christ-like behaviour. However, at times it is just so difficult - like last night, it was really the last straw with this girlfriend. What is horrible is that she was clearly aloof to my feelings.

But God never fails :) He has always been, and will always be there for me, exceedingly abundantly caring for me even after eternity! If you do wanna have a friend like that, I'd be glad to introduce Him to you. I am sure He will perform wondrous acts in your life and will touch you greatly with His love and grace.

MarcusK Thanks! :) We will gym soon!! Press on for this week then we can excitedly embark on our journey for the present!! :P
Jedi heeyyyyyyyy what's up!
